How RookiGuru handles information on this website, and how we approach the safety of young learners.
Who we are
RookiGuru is a Texas nonprofit corporation (501(c)(3) status pending) that provides free, multilingual AI and accounting training, distributed largely through partner organizations.
RookiGuru is a zero-PII content provider. We create and supply learning content, and where courses are delivered through a partner organization, we receive only anonymized, aggregate outcomes — for example, how many learners completed a course — never a learner's personal details.
Where a learner enrolls through a partner organization, that organization is responsible for the personal data it collects, including obtaining any required consent.

What data we collect, and why
RookiGuru's own website collects only what's needed to respond to enquiries. For example, if you fill out a contact or partnership form, we collect your name, email, and message so we can reply. We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where courses are hosted on Udemy, Udemy's own privacy policy governs data collected during enrollment and course delivery on their platform.
Children under 18
RookiGuru does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 through its own website.
- Learners under 18 access RookiGuru content only through a partner organization, which handles enrollment and any required parental or guardian consent.
- RookiGuru does not create individual accounts for minors on rookiguru.org, and does not track, profile, or advertise to minors.
- RookiGuru does not knowingly collect or publish any minor-identifiable information — names, photos, or individual records — on its own website.
- If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.
Consent, access, and correction
If you've contacted us, or a partner organization has shared aggregate information with us, you — or, for a minor, a parent or guardian — can ask us to explain what information relates to you, correct it, or request that it be deleted, by writing to info@rookiguru.org. We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Cookies and analytics
RookiGuru uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited. We do not use behavioral or targeted advertising of any kind, and we do not track or profile minors.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold and keep it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. Aggregate outcome data received from partner organizations is anonymized before it reaches us.
Parents' and guardians' rights
If your child has taken part in RookiGuru content through a partner organization and you have questions about what data was collected or how consent was obtained, please contact that organization directly, or reach out to us at info@rookiguru.org and we will help direct your question.

We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.

What this page covers
This page covers rookiguru.org — the website you are reading now, our contact form, and our two AI assistants, RookiGuide and Roo English.
It does not cover Udemy. Our courses are hosted there. When you follow a link from this site to start a course, everything that happens after that — your account, your enrolment, your learning activity — is governed by Udemy's own terms and privacy practices, not ours.
RookiGuru was formed as a Texas nonprofit corporation in July 2026. We have applied for federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and are awaiting IRS determination.
What information we collect
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for six things:
- Your name — a first name is enough
- Your email address
- What you would like help with
- Your organization's name, if you are writing on behalf of one — optional
- Your message
- Confirmation that you are 18 or older
We ask for nothing else. No phone number, no address, no date of birth, no identity documents, no financial details. There are no file uploads.
When you use RookiGuide or Roo English
Whatever you type into either assistant is processed by Chatbase, the service that powers them. See the section on third-party services below.
Ordinary technical information
Like most websites, our hosting produces routine server logs as pages are served. We do not run advertising trackers, advertising pixels or third-party analytics tools on this website.
What we do not do
There is no login on rookiguru.org. We do not create learner accounts, we do not hold learner profiles, and no payment is taken anywhere on this site.
How we use it
We use what you send us to reply to your enquiry. That is the only reason we ask for it.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join.
Messages sent through the contact form reach us by email at info@rookiguru.org, and are also stored in this website's database by the form software we use.
We are still settling two operational details: how long we keep contact form submissions, and exactly which team members can access them. We will publish both here once agreed. In the meantime, you can ask us to delete your message at any time.
Children and young people
RookiGuru exists for young learners, so this matters to us.
We do not hold learner accounts
There is no sign-up on rookiguru.org and no learner profile held by us. Courses are accessed through Udemy, under Udemy's account rules.
Our contact form is for adults
The form asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. RookiGuru does not intentionally ask people under 18 to submit personal information through it.
If you are under 18, please ask a parent, teacher, or an organization you are part of to contact us on your behalf.
Enrolment for under-18s goes through an adult
Udemy requires a parent or guardian to open the account and manage enrolments for anyone under 18. That arrangement sits with the parent, guardian or partner organization — not with RookiGuru. Organizations working with younger learners can read more on our For Organizations page.
Please do not send us sensitive information
Whatever your age, please do not include identity numbers, financial or card details, health information or passwords in a message to us, or type them into our AI assistants.
We are finalising our written procedure for the situation where someone under 18 submits the contact form despite the age confirmation. Until that is agreed and published here, if this happens we will act to protect the young person's information.
AI assistants and third-party services
RookiGuide and Roo English
Both assistants are powered by Chatbase. When you type into either one, your messages and the assistant's replies are processed by Chatbase and the AI services behind it.
Chatbase keeps chat logs and provides usage analytics, which can include an approximate country worked out from your IP address. Chatbase processes this on infrastructure in the United States, and states that customer data is not used to train AI models.
Please do not type sensitive information into the assistants. No identity numbers, no payment or card details, no passwords, no medical information — nothing you would not want stored.
We have not yet confirmed how long assistant conversations are retained in our Chatbase workspace. We will publish that here once we have.

Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@rookiguru.org or use our contact form, and we will do our best to help.
If you are under 18, please ask a parent, teacher or organization to contact us on your behalf.
Changes to this page
RookiGuru is a young organization and some of our practices are still being formalised. Where that is the case, this page says so rather than making a promise we have not yet agreed. We will update this page as those details are settled, and the date at the top will change when we do.
