Our commitment

RookiGuru is committed to making rookiguru.org usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and people using older devices or slower internet connections. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as a baseline.

What we do

• We design pages to work with keyboards alone, with visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
• We aim for sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds.
• We write descriptive alt text for meaningful images.
• We structure pages with clear, consistent headings.
• We build for low-bandwidth conditions, since many of our learners access the Site on basic Android phones over slower connections — this also tends to keep pages simpler and easier to navigate.

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix. As we continue building and updating the Site, some pages or third-party embedded content — for example, course pages hosted on Udemy — may not yet fully meet this standard. We are working to identify and address these gaps.
